Well, I decided to give another try with the Tim Holtz products and the 12 tags of 2015 challenge. I really loved how Tim used the words twenty one and then the number 5 for 2015. He's just so clever. :) I'm still very new to the Tim Holtz products and have only used them a small handful of times (even thought I've had them sitting in a drawer for over a year).
I actually used 3 different colored distress paints for the background (Evergreen Bough, Broken China and Pumice Stone) but it appears that only the Evergreen showed up... So I decided to add in a little Pumice Stone with the dot fade layering stencil and distress ink. I actually used the clockwork stencil too but its pretty hard to see. I think it's because I used the Evergreen Bough distress ink on that as well when I probably should have used the Broken China. Oh well. I chose to go with more of a silver theme than gold as I just prefer silver more. I used the botanical remnant rubs and the steampunk and phrases 2 stamp sets for the images. All in all, I think it turned out ok for only my 2nd one. I plan to participate monthly in the tag challenge but we shall see how that goes. I suppose I should actually purchase some tags instead of cutting vanilla paper lol. I'm not really sure what to do with the finished tags though... any tips/advice??
Bright soft background, beautiful tag!
ReplyDeleteLove the tag :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so much fun playing with Tim Holtz and Ranger stuff.
I'm playing with my january tag now :)
I'm with you on what to do with the tags! I've only entered once ( and won!!!), but my tags were so chunky I really can't use them on a card as some do. It looks as if yours could go on a card.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I think your tag is absolutely gorgeous! You have taken creative liberties here and done just one fabulous job! I cannot believe you have used Tim's products just a couple of times--it looks like you've mastered them!
Can I ask how you did the white specks? They are "spot on"! No pun intended here.
Hi Sara. Thanks so much! I think the white specks you are referring to are my watermark. So it's just a graphic lol.
DeleteTag turned out great! The idea is use his tag as our jumping off point... to get our creative juices flowing. You did this. Creative Blessings!
ReplyDeleteVery simple and neat take! LOVE the stamped sentiment!
